As Canadians struggle to afford groceries and pay bills, Conservative MP Mike Dawson is drawing a line in the sand, refusing a “distasteful” Parliamentary pay raise because he can’t accept it “in good conscience.”

The pay raise, slated for April 1, will automatically give every MP a 4.2 per cent pay increase, which the New Brunswick MP for Miramichi—Grand Lake called “frankly distasteful.”
