Conservative MP REFUSES $10K pay hike
New Brunswick MP Mike Dawson takes a stand for taxpayers, sparking hope for a culture shift on Parliament Hill.
Conservative MP Mike Dawson from New Brunswick has refused his $10,000 pay hike, taking a stand for taxpayers while other MPs continue padding their pockets.
In an official letter to the House of Commons clerk, Dawson says he doesn’t need the raise and is putting principle over personal gain — a bold move that could spark a culture shift on Parliament Hill.
Meanwhile, the bureaucracy and party caucuses face mounting pressure as citizens and advocacy groups rally behind Dawson, calling on MPs from all parties to reject automatic pay hikes.
Canadian Taxpayers Federation federal director Franco Terrazzano joins Kris Sims to break down why Dawson’s decision matters, how it could influence Parliament’s culture of entitlement, and what Canadians can do to support leadership that puts taxpayers first.

While Canadians line up at food banks Carney gives raises to MPs that already get pay cheques over $200,00, this is disgusting as they don't work for more than 6 months in a year.
Good on him but one MP sadly does not a trend make.
The Conservatives already know there were and perhaps still are CINOs amongst their ranks.
A couple outed themselves and went to feed at the Lieberal trough which is wide and deep.
To send a message though that perhaps taxpayers would actually pay attention to and at the same time show real leadership.
How about ALL Conservative MP's refuse to take that pay hike?
THAT... Would send a good message all around and the spin from the incompetent piggies at the trough currently governing what used to be Canada would be interesting to hear.
