The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms filed a complaint against Winnipeg police for allegedly failing to respond to more than eight 911 calls during a violent protest targeting academic Dr. Frances Widdowson.

The group announced it filed a complaint on March 24, 2026, with Manitoba’s Law Enforcement Review Agency on behalf of Widdowson for an incident in September when she was attacked by protesters on September 26, 2025. As first reported by the Western Standard.
