Members of the public safety committee voted unanimously to probe the failings of several government agencies that failed to vet the Chinese-Canadian spy who ultimately interned at NATO’s headquarters in Belgium.

The committee adopted a Conservative motion on Monday to “examine Canada’s security screening processes, that the study include a minimum of three meetings on a priority basis, that the committee invites the Minister of Public Safety and any other witnesses deemed important by the committee, and that the committee reports its findings and recommendations to the House.”
