CMHC dished out nearly $32 million in staff bonuses last year

Of the $31,720,451 in taxpayer-funded bonuses, $3,545,057 went to 79 CMHC agency executives, while the remaining $28,175,394 was doled out to other employees.

The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, whose stated goal is “housing affordability for all,” doled out nearly $32 million in bonuses last year, all paid for by taxpayers.

According to data released in response to an order paper question filed by Conservative MP Andrew Scheer, the Crown corporation gave its employees $31.7 million in bonus pay in 2025.
