City councillor warns against new police drone program
Pickering City Councillor Lisa Robinson raises privacy concerns over Durham Police’s new high-tech drone program, warning that it could enable mass surveillance without proper oversight.
Police drones are coming to Canadian streets, arriving at emergency scenes in just 60 seconds — but at what cost?
Pickering City Councillor Lisa Robinson joins Marc Patrone to speak out against the new Durham Regional Police drone program.
Lisa explains the potential risks to privacy, the need for proper oversight, and why Canadians deserve answers before these high-tech drones become standard tools for law enforcement.
These high-tech drones transmit live overhead video to officers before they even arrive on the scene, potentially improving response times. However, critics warn that without strong oversight, these powerful tools could be misused to monitor citizens.

If one does a bit of homework one can counter the drones if so inclined.
It's the principle of any game that can be played can be played by both sides.
Having said that they do have their good uses in a lot of situations. Lost children, missing animals, etc. They offer a faster response then other piloted options.
However...
Given the track record of too many Police forces these days one might suppose these drones will absolutely be misused.
Always best these days to only trust those who have actually earned that trust.
