The Chinese Communist Party’s flagship newspaper has praised Prime Minister Mark Carney’s handling of the Trump administration over Canada-U.S. trade negotiations.

The Global Times article called Ottawa’s dollar-for-dollar retaliation against US tariffs a validating move that complemented Beijing’s opposition to Washington and a “Chinese-style counter-attack.”
