China in cahoots with the RCMP, human rights lawyer alleges
“I’ve actually had specific cases where Canadian authorities worked hand in hand with the military police service of China," claimed Joel Etienne, a human rights lawyer.

In a House of Commons press conference this week, human rights lawyers criticized what they called the RCMP's collaboration with Chinese authorities, alleging that Chinese military police officers conducted investigations in Canada.
On Jan. 16, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a secretive Chinese policing agreement in Beijing as part of a “new Canada-China relationship,” following a joint pledge to deepen law enforcement co-operation on corruption, cyber fraud and illegal synthetic drugs.
