Child predator arrested creeping on kids hours after release
Lethbridge police say less than five hours after being released, officers allegedly caught the suspect at the public library using social media and viewing images of children online.
A convicted child sex offender was arrested by Lethbridge police just hours after walking free from prison for allegedly violating the very court orders meant to protect children.
Police say 47-year-old James Robert George Martinac was released from custody at 7 a.m. on May 1 after serving four years behind bars for a disturbing list of child sex offences, including sexual interference, child luring, possession of child pornography, sexual exploitation and uttering threats.
But according to the Lethbridge Police Service, by 11:45 a.m., less than five hours later, officers allegedly caught Martinac at the public library using social media and viewing images of children online despite being under strict lifetime restrictions.
