CBC omits Carney’s ‘new world order’ line in spliced Beijing clip

The state broadcaster is under fire after the CBC censored Prime Minister Mark Carney’s controversial “new world order” remark during a broadcast of his speech from China, sparking outrage that the media outlet is protecting the Liberal leader from political fallout.
Carney made the comments Thursday during a roundtable in Beijing alongside Chinese officials. He praised Chinese President Xi Jinping’s leadership and described the rapid improvement in Canada-China relations as laying the groundwork for a broader strategic partnership.
In the full exchange, Carney said he was “heartened by the leadership of President Xi Jinping,” and that the pace of improved ties between Ottawa and Beijing “sets the stage” for deeper cooperation across sectors, including energy, agriculture and security.
Carney then added that he believed the progress made “sets us up well for the new world order.”
CBC aired portions of the prime minister’s remarks but omitted the “new world order” phrase.
Carney’s Beijing trip has come under intensified scrutiny in Canada amid tensions over China’s role in global security, allegations of foreign interference, and growing debate over the federal government’s willingness to deepen trade ties with Beijing.
The omission comes as Carney’s China visit has become politically charged, with Conservatives accusing the Liberal government of softening its stance on Beijing and prioritizing trade concessions over security concerns.
Carney’s reference to a “new world order” in Beijing — alongside praise for Xi — was seized on by critics as unusually blunt language for a Canadian prime minister.
Observers noted that Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe was seated beside Carney during the roundtable and appeared visibly surprised when the prime minister delivered the line.
CBC has not publicly explained why that specific portion of Carney’s remarks was left out of its broadcast clip.
True North reached out to CBC for comment but did not receive a reply by publication time.

Until recently I was of the opinion, that the french language cbc should be kept for the genuinely affected rural quebec regions, the Northern Canada service should be kept for the genuinely affected, sparsely populated and serviced Northern areas and the rest of the cbc should just be defunded, to die a slow death under the weight of its own poisonous bureaucracy, over bloated staffing and dei rubbish. I have now reached the point, that I say just shut it down! Spin the french rural service off to the quebec government and let them handle their own forced french language service, with the subsequent onus to run it themselves. Find another means of servicing the North, whether it be Starlink or some other means. Only keep the Northern service if absolutely necessary, by finding hopefully private sources for ownership (difficult I know.) For the rest of the cbc, terminate with extreme prejudice, sell off any equipment possible, send the rest to the wreckers and sell off the buildings to developers. The cbc is a poisonous, corrupt, terrorist loving arm of the lieberal misgovernment. Anyway with this new china deal, the carney lieberals are now opening the door to allowing ccp state run media operations in kanada (Destination Canada and Chinese Media Group).
Is anyone really surprised in their selective editing.
Blame it on a staffer.
