I support Juno news and their pushback against smug Liberals and their bought medias. Having said that, apparently Poillievre’s campaign was less accessible to the press than Carney and Singh. That is troubling as well. Last summer 150 or so of us lead a protest against mass immigration in down town Toronto, which was covered by Rebel News and True North. I appreciated the coverage and follow them. But we have to careful of creating another parallel media system, with its own strong biases.

I have been hearing this a little bit around alternative news sources and podcasts, that we have to be careful that these don’t become just as strongly biased. But that is not our concern, as long as we remain defenders of free speech. The concern is democracy and whether or not our government is arbitrating which voices get to be heard. How could any political party compete with the Liberal campaign foghorn of CBC, which is subsidized to the tune of $1.3 billion? Viewers and listeners to any program are always welcome to turn off any communication stream that they consider too biased. There will always be another one with a quick swipe of the thumb. But our tax dollars continue to go straight towards a neverending Liberal campaign, whether we liked it or not. I’m surprised Poillievre did as well as he did under such circumstances.

Good show Candice. The cbc is and has been toast in my book for 40+ years. I have always found most of the the production pathetic and degrading.

Look at the electoral map of red and blue....no amount of words can portray so easily and accurately the split in this country....east vs west and urban vs rural....the west is under represented to tje benefit of the Laurentians who cooked this deal up at Confereration.....want an example?....24 Senate seats in each of Ontario and Quebec.....24 total for BC, Alta, Sask and Manitoba.....Quebec, to protect their dainty language and control, is guaranteed 25% of MP seats regardless of population.....and these are held by a separatist party for gods sake.....

Another great, interesting article, but same question; how do you convince those who think the only place true news and journalism comes from is their TV to tune in? Tax payer funded biased legacy media still has their devoted audience who eat out of their hands, and that media will never bite the hand that feeds them. How do you attract that audience?

In response to BS, your comments are valid, my comments still stand. I despise the CBC, especially when Catherine Tait came along. Cancel culture is not what we need, I still like Rebel, Juno, True North
