A trans 15-year-old teen was charged in a foiled school mass murder plot in Bridgewater, N.S. Court proceedings referenced the suspect’s male pronouns while police claimed to Juno News that the accused is a “biological female.”

Legacy media coverage of the incident largely omitted mention of the suspect’s trans identity.

Local sources in Bridgewater connected to the school alleged the teen in custody was a male in the process of transitioning.

New information has since emerged. After the publication deadline, Bridgewater Police provided clarification to Juno News, stating that the “youth in our investigation is a biological female.” who requested to use “he/him pronouns.”
