Increases in CO2 in the future will cause logarithmically less and less effective per volume as time goes on because it is nearly totally saturated in the atmosphere. Will Happer, professor emeritus from Princeton University states that, molecule wise, CO2 is attenuated by four orders of magnitude; this is a factor of 10,000. It appears that this means that more and more of the CO2 in the atmosphere is ineffective thus heat is escaping into space untouched by CO2.
