China is no friend of Canada, or anybody else for that matter.

Carney basically is no friend of Canada either.

All he does is talk and talk and talk and talk.

Remember all the promises to expedite major Projects to get Canada's economy pumping.

Anybody seen anything in that regard??

ANYBODY???

ANYTHING????

As for Products from China when I was in Canada I did my best to avoid anything that they produced.

Of course that was not always possible and in some cases impossible.

I would think though for EV's who in their right mind would want one regardless of origin.

Worse.. If you did you would have to be insane to want one made in China.

Then again.. Could be a tell on who votes Liberal I guess.

In any case a decision would also be "a tell" on where Carney actually stands on doing anything good for Canada as certainly removing the tariffs on Chinese made EV's would send the dead opposite message.

Then again...

Given Carney's globe trotting habits and his deep connections to The WEF, Globalists, The UN, Environmentalist etc. one might be excused for thinking that message has already been sent.

Too bad not enough Canadians have yet to pay enough attention to the fake and the fraud many got fooled into voting for.

Harold's avatar

Based upon the sales, nobody wants EV's; that being the case, the politcians are going to force EV's down the throats of everyone. The politicans are not listening; China is not listening. For Canadians taking it up the ass, it is just another Tuesday.

China subsidizes their really crummy tin pot cars by 50% - that will KILL whatever is left of our Auto Industry, unless Canadians are SMART enough to refuse to buy one. I will NEVER comply to a stupid man telling me what kind of car I have to buy. Do NOT comply to his EV Mandate coming right up in 2026!

Pat Hutchinson's avatar

I’ve come to the conclusion that most Canadians are below average and average is no ___. It seems it’ll take a LOT more pain before Canadians wake up, look around & believe what they are experiencing. The emperor has no clothes on!! EV’s….from anywhere, won’t work. But then, our society isn’t working either…..yet. Too many people are still comfy enough to ignore the pain around them. A few more generations to go I guess!

Franz Kafka's avatar

And how much does Canada subsidize the USA cars it is allowed to make under license? Think 'Stellantis' here, fool. Get real will you?

Sherry 1's avatar

Canadian taxpayers ‘gave’ $20 M to Stellantis

William Stewart's avatar

If you build things nobody wants that industry dies.

Even when the morons like Carney attempt to force them down people's throats.

Another industry nobody wants will disappear.

Whether Canada's current WEF/GLOBALIST/ENVIRONMENTALIST likes it or not.

That will also go for the buffoon who is the Premier of OntArWeOwe.

While Carney, the guy who holds three passports, has his money off shore and a nice place in the UK may not care there are a lot of trained seal Liberals who will, at some point be forced to care.

... OR NOT ...

This one is certainly in the category of to be continued.

Happily I am watching from away and happy I did that.

All EV mandates have gone where I am and are unlikely to return and where I am EV's actually sort of work as opposed to cold climates where they are a terrible thing to have when it gets cold.

I agree with you here. But I have to question you buying non china made. I can't see anything that hasn't originated from china. In part or whole. Everything except some food. Your automobile that you drive says made in cnada or usa, but a large portion of the components are made in china. Every repairs from a automotive shop. I had to have a hood replaced on my car but they were waiting for it to come from china. And that's a north american built. All the little things, clothes, like gadgets, tools home appliances, same thing. China virtually owns us.

Mad Max's avatar

And thats the problem. Canadian businesses have gone down the tube and more headed that way. Cant compete with slave labour to build the junk items. Yes thats a simplistic idea to bring back manufacturing to Canada but Canada has rules and expense to employers. Everyone wants a Pension Plan and Health care paid for by their employer. Do the Chinese workers in the factories have those?

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

Yup, the regulated us right out of business and out of the country. And then, they still don't get it. They figure we will survive on rainbow stew and co2 tax coolaid.

Kim Morton's avatar

Since they only get paid two bowls of rice a day, one bowl of rice a day for pension isn't a huge cost.

Brent's avatar

You forgot the weekly fishhead.

JosephPhallis's avatar

Thanks to the real estate Ponzi scheme in Canada run by our corrupt politicians at all levels of government our overhead is far too high to compete!

Couple that with all the "Green 🐂 💩 " that China and India are allowed to ignore and we are in trouble. Also the idiots suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome don't help either.

William Stewart's avatar

You are not wrong at all.

Sadly China pretty much at least has "a piece" of almost everything.

It was not that way decades ago.

I can remember my father, who owned a manufacturing facility made parts for the appliance industry and almost all the manufacturing was based in Ontario.

Now.. Pretty much nothing.. Not completely but pretty much.

I also recall as things moved to China companies like Walmart taking appliances and other things made in America and Canada and sending them to China to be dissected and made "cheaper" and that they did and American, and Canadian industries died.

That of course goes for the Automotive industry.

You can see that if you look at any given box which will generally say "Made in China" or some country controlled by China.

If it says "Made in Mexico" it is coming from China and put together in Mexico at best.

If it says "Assembled in" you can pretty much bet almost everything is not coming from the country that it says "Assembled In".

SO YEP... You are correct and I did say difficult to impossible in some (perhaps, as you pointed out) most cases.

But when it comes to food... I absolutely read the labels and if it does not say "Product of USA or CANADA" I do not get it.. PERIOD... and that includes for my dog.

China figured out that many do not want food products from there but of course they simply now move some products to other countries.

For example.. If you like shrimp and it says Product of Thailand the product is from China.

Where I am now though it's easy to find all products that are "Product of the USA"...

It would come as no surprise I think that since I moved from Canada finding products that say Product of Canada has become difficult to impossible. That one falls on Canada I'm afraid.

AND SO.. YES...

Your comment is most valid.

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

They have a new way now. I bought a kitchen gadget. The label said product of Canada-Montreal, then in small print, it said imported by company. But did not say where it came from. When I was doing long haul, I hauled a couple of loads Kenworth truck frames. Picked them up in Oregon, took them to Richmond BC for hole drilling. Then taken back to the Kenworth Assemble plant in Oregon. But they were built in Mexico. Then we wonder why things cost so much.

William Stewart's avatar

YES.... And so true...

You have to read the labels very carefully and as noted even if it says "MADE IN" this just means (under the current rules) that some of the parts are "Made in" and that it is "Assembled In"...

It's the same for "Manufactured In" but there is, I think a difference in terms of content.

However.. YES... Label reading is a must ...

I have indeed seen a lot of "Imported By" in the last several years.

It's a dead giveaway it's coming from China or close.

........ ALSO ...........

In terms of the "back and forth"....

That is likely, for example, why Canada has been so foolish in pissing off Trump.

It is estimated that a lot of the auto sector manufacturing involves multiple trips of the same vehicle across the Canada/US border for things like that which you described.

But the US has all the capabilities of doing everything in the same country and does not need, for example, something sent back up to Canada to get some holes drilled.

A lot of that one has to do with the USMCA which given that Trump says he does not wish now to talk to Canada about anything does not bode well for that agreement.

If it dies the auto industry in Doug Fraud's Ontario will die with it.

Canada has been repeatedly shooting itself in the foot since it elected the absolute jerk in 2015.

Now they have a much smarter and more evil guy whose job, I think, is to finish Canada off according to the playbook of his WEF, GLOBALIST, UN, EU masters.

Can't say he will not succeed.

By all current indications he is certainly on the path to finish off the job the sock jerk started in 2015.

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

Absolutely right about the conman and his job. He works for the UN wef, not Canada, even though we pay the puppet. Turdope admitted that in 2015 when he was just elected. He said "I represent the world not Canada". That tuned me in right from the start.

William Stewart's avatar

Yes..

I remember that one but I turned off this jerk as soon as I saw his Surname.

Sunny Ways was also a dead giveaway.

The Budget will Balance itself????

Well.. After that why would anybody with any IQ vote for this idiot.

... OK ...

Never Mind.

Harold B.'s avatar

Yeah I think you are right about made in China . We don't see or look for it but when you do they sell us most things . I know windshields come from there .

Franz Kafka's avatar

Frankly, I would choose Xi Jin Peng over Marx Carney any day. Why is it that you do not realize that the life of the average Chinese citizen is better (and more democratic) than the life of an above-average Canadian. What is your twisted allegiance based on?

Harold B.'s avatar

You have any good organs left in you .

Franz Kafka's avatar

If you do, and you are in Canadahar, your organs already belong to Carney.

Franz Kafka's avatar

Have you ever seen a Chinese EV? I have seen many. When it comes time to replace my "Fu*k Carney and Greta" 8 Cylinder ICE, I will go Chinese. I would certainly never buy a Tesla.

J Holden's avatar

Nobody takes my F150.

Franz Kafka's avatar

I feel the same about my SKS.

Martin West's avatar

I agree. Also, Carney will not sacrifice Ontario to give a break to the western farmers.

Franz Kafka's avatar

China is a friend of Russia, North Korea, even almost, India. And that is 89% of China's neighbours. Canada has ONE (1!) neighbour and it is no longer friends with it. I hope you feel stupid now.

James Turner's avatar

Could this be it? Could this be the end?

Is China going to force Carny to choose - out loud - between them and the USA?

In Canadian minds - and in the real world - that is not actually a choice. All politics aside, just look at a map. Therein lies the only reasonable answer.

But Carny's historical indecisiveness - along with his notable lack of backbone - is rather epic. 'Why make a decision when I can just jump on a plane and go visit people who like me?'

This one is going to be very interesting. I simply cannot wait for the Bank Manager to respond.

Franz Kafka's avatar

What Bank Manager?! Carney is the last Bank Manager (from Hell) you are likely to meet. You will be complaining from now on to A I and the CBDC avatars. Thank Dog for MAID.

Franz Kafka's avatar

Yeah, sure it is. If you want to give the state a blowjob with your last breath.

Franz Kafka's avatar

Carney does what the Palace and the WEF tell him to do.

Marilyn Tanguay's avatar

This is serious but couldn't help but giggle alittle. He still can't make a deal. Now his only choice is to bend over and make an offering to China. Can't wait for trump to get wind of this. Wish I was a fly on the wall when they bump into each other in Davos. Bet he hightails it out of there or hides till it's over.

Franz Kafka's avatar

Elbows up, cheeks spread, pants down. Try it.

JosephPhallis's avatar

I'll leave that one for Carny.

Donald/Raelene Bell's avatar

He reminds you of those blow up characters you see at car lots. No backbone with a stupid look on its face.

Transformative Outlook's avatar

Good discussion, it is all about Power Corp, Brookfield not losing. Country Canada is completely at risk!

Franz Kafka's avatar

Colonial Canada is being sacrificed to Moloch and the Palace.

Have you ever wondered why Canada has 13 colonies just like the rebelled colonies of the USA once numbered 13?

T Robert (Bob) Hambley's avatar

China would be dumping heavily subsidized evs into Canada which should cause retaliatory tariffs. If Carney agrees to this swap he is selling out Canada for a friend who is not a friend and never will be a friend.

James's avatar

oh well, lets wait and see ? Both Carney and Ford fucked up with Trump, so lets see how they do better ?

JJ88's avatar

Also, with these cars, they can listen and track you.

Don Hrehirchek's avatar

That is My biggest concern. Not saying it can not happen in North American made vehicles. It is just that We know China does.

Franz Kafka's avatar

Do not flatter yourself Don. Why would China want to spy on you? You and I know why Oddawa would.

Don Hrehirchek's avatar

Well Franz I am not flattered. But China would definitely spy on the Canadian government. But If You so choose to buy a Chinese made vehicle , it is Your choice.

Franz Kafka's avatar

If my V8 tries spying on me will blow its manifold off!

JosephPhallis's avatar

Like the ones we have now don't? Pretty much every new car uploads your telemetry data, your cockpit conversations and any camera data your car has right now! Most if not all cars manufacturers are partners in the World Economic Forum - Check it out on the WEF Website... https://www.weforum.org/ That's what they needed 5G for...

JJ88's avatar

True. They mostly collect data to sell us a product. Ccp collects our data to use against democracy.

Franz Kafka's avatar

No. China does not give a fk about you. But Oddawa does.

JosephPhallis's avatar

It says right in my 2024 Prius license agreement that the data can be retained for between 2 and 15 years, stored in the cloud in countries with different privacy laws, and give it to third parties including government agencies. Of course here in Communist Canada 🍁 the RCMP have already been caught looking at data that they don't have a warrant for... So it might be naive to think that they aren't already using it to track us as we speak... (Look up Google Sensorbase) They geolocated every cellphone in the US Capital on January 6th...

Franz Kafka's avatar

NO Chinese car comes with such a disclosure. Cuz ITS A FECKING CAR! China does not give a shit what you do. Carney does. Cuz he is scared and wants to do your children.

Franz Kafka's avatar

Ofkoff! What total, paranoid, self-important rubbish!

JosephPhallis's avatar

According to Australian Sky News - Tesla employees were caught passing photos of naked drivers! I suppose you're more modest.

Kim Morton's avatar

Can they find their way back home again? When you take a horse to the bar, if you can get back up in the saddle, he will take you home without any directions.

JosephPhallis's avatar

You can lead a horse to drink but you can't make him water...

Franz Kafka's avatar

My snowshoes are not digital!

JJ88's avatar

What's the point?

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

That is no choice! When we and the democratic world should be kicking china in rear end, conman is over there suck holing to king zi. If conman is going to suck up to anyone it should be our close neighbor and protector, right here next door. He is nothing but a low life world criminal, robbing the people blind.

Brian Giesbrecht's avatar

Canada can choose China over America like Venezuela did. That worked out just peachy

Harold B.'s avatar

Well they have a lot of control . Does Brookfield have any stock in Chinese EVs . Done deal if they do .

Franz Kafka's avatar

If they don't, they will soon. Tesla is done.

Sherry 1's avatar

Yes. They have MANY businesses and real estate (talking high rises) holdings in China. Verrrrry cozy.

J Holden's avatar

Carney should ask Trump to negotiate for Canada.

James Turner's avatar

As a citizen of Canada, I am terrified of what Carny and his crew of left-over Trudeau idiots will do to us in China. Trudeau was the last Canadian PM to visit China and he was sent home on the kids bus with a new nickname - Small Potatoes. Don't think the Chinese have forgotten and don't think they won't recognize the Trudeau leftovers.

The Chinese have been doing geopolitics for about ten thousand years - Canada for about 200.

To say that we are over our heads in trying to deal with them is breathtakingly inadequate.

Add that to the fact that Carny has displayed a constant deer-in-the-headlights posture to pretty much anything of import and you get my concern.

Carny was simple fresh meat to Trump, no more than a snack. How will he fare with the Chinese?

He seems to have a Hobson's Choice in front of him, but he will have to make it.

I cannot even imagine him caving to China or, what harm that would cause us. Per the NSICOP report, we already have some unspecified number of foreign (Chinese) agents in Canada, acting as MPs and Cabinet Ministers - or do I have that backwards? One such MP, he of the sterling character and monosyllabic name is with Carny on this trip.

This is an absolute thousand layer cake of potentially damaging and long-term harmful effects to Canada. Carny has repeatedly proven himself to be incapable of so much as buttering a slice of white bread.

And keep in mind, the US knows all this, and much more. If Carny does cave in to China, he will need to keep a constant watch out for an incoming Blackhawk helicopter or two.

Of course he could always rely on our armed forces for protec ... uh, never mind.

Ray Anderson's avatar

Chinese EV? Yea if you want a person from China to monitor your every move and the fact they have the ability to turn your car off from China. Why would anyone buy that crap?

David James's avatar

Is Brookfield heavily invested in organ harvesting? Maybe he could ask Xi to look out for a new Carney heart.

Franz Kafka's avatar

Carney was born without one. What would he do with one now?

David James's avatar

I stand corrected. Thank you.

James B.'s avatar

That will be the end of Canada....PERIOD!
