Carney tells premiers to return U.S. alcohol to store shelves

None of the premiers have officially stated whether they would heed Carney’s request, but the White House stated that ending the bans is a pillar of any deal.

Prime Minister Mark Carney is telling provinces to return U.S. alcohol to their shelves as Ottawa tries to hammer out a trade deal with the Trump administration.

Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston told reporters that Carney spoke with provincial leaders on Wednesday, telling them they need to bring back US wine and spirits to stores once an agreement is finalized.
