A series of Parliamentary Order Paper Questions reveal that Prime Minister Mark Carney spent over half a million dollars on in-flight catering.
Prime Minister Mark Carney spent more than half a million dollars in taxpayer money on luxury in-flight catering during his first year in office, at one point billing the public 11 times more for food than for fuel on a single trip to Washington.
As first reported in the Toronto Sun, a series of Order Paper Question documents revealed that across 28 trips, he spent a total of $524,815.04. In just nine trips between March and November, Carney spent the majority of those public funds on a food-and-beverage bill costing taxpayers $300,194.07.
