"Climate Competitiveness," huh? More word salad from Mr. Mendacious. Nice, though that they can contribute another $5 BILLION borrowed fiat dollars to the "Canadian economy." Of course by "Canada" they mean nothing west of Mississauga. Got to keep all those lefty union voters happy, don't ya' know.

Marx is just making stuff up as he goes - there is no such thing as 'climate competitiveness' as you and I obviously understand - but liberal voters will eat that up as 'oh we need that, it sounds like a great virtue signal i can brag about at my tea party as my trust fund pays all my bills'....

How about real words Mr Carnage - like 'economic competitiveness'? Or 'more jobs in the private sector' and better 'more private sector jobs for Canadians, not for ass**les from other countries'? Any of those would do....the last being best.

Electric vehicles will never be the future! They are at best, another vehicle option for those who can afford it.

You know, people with money. Not the average Canadian.

I wouldn't buy it anyway because it does not make as much sense to me as a $45K bill for solar panels produced in China and sold in Canada.

The EV tariffs on china is what caused the canola tariffs. Are we now going to allow Chinese made EV's into Canada at a time where our auto sector is floundering?

Wowee

Step 1 - get elected, know about the issue.

Step 2 - do nothing, this adding concern and cost to automakers who have no firm guidance and need to continue on their mandated EV fairy tale. Consumers subsidize the EV efforts in their ICE cars because there's no other way to recoup the mandated investment.

Step 3 - wait past the last minute when dealers are now exposed to inventory they had to purchase due to the mandate or face fines.

Step 4 - vaguely delay the mandate, continuing the merciless waste of automaker money guaranteeing that consumers continue to subsidize a 'maybe next year mandate' inventory and automaking capacity.

Step 5 - hand taxpayer money to automakers as compensation for being idiots.

Outcome - taxpayers pay for stupidity twice in the forms of tax redistribution and subsidizing EV's through ICE purchases. No foreseeable end. You're seeing full Carney in flight here!

Carnage backs down on another point, and, as usual, covers his butt with hand-waving and obfuscation. Is the gun grab next? We can hope.
