O'Toole, others accept U.S. advisory committee role from Carney

Prime Minister Mark Carney has launched another federal advisory panel on U.S. relations, this time including former Conservative leader Erin O’Toole.

O’Toole is listed alongside several former politicians and premiers, including former Quebec premier Jean Charest. In an interview with the Toronto Star, O’Toole said he saw Carney as a “much more substantive leader” with whom he agreed on many fronts.”

“We’re dealing with a much more substantive leader that I agree with on many fronts. There will be some areas of disagreement, but that’s what this panel’s meant to be,” said O’Toole.
