It is a sad day in Canada when the Governor General does not realize that as a Constitutional Monarchy the Governor General is the representative of King Charles in Canada.

Good recap Candice.

Canada needs to move on, leave the British connection, no need for a King, no need for a Governor General, no need for the embarrassments.

Canada should an independent republic, with Direct Representation.

As far as Carney not taking questions in Parliament, that is what Dictators do.

We can assume that Carney will never attend or show up in Parliament.

With a minority government, how long can the Liberals last? No long game here.

Get rid of the monarchy, but more importantly, get rid of the authoritarian woke globalist captain Carnage……

He has no right to abondon the question period tradition!!!! We must have this to hold the lying liberals to account every day!!!! I’m sure Justin encouraged Carnage to cancel question period as he often walked out on it and never answered any questions anyway

It should be EVERY day and not just Wednesdays!!!!

Pathetic arrogant tyrant globalist!!!!

On the sex school material: The only real problem I see is that there appears to be no discipline applied to those who allowed the books. There should be a price to pay for those who ordered those books for kids to see. I would even wonder about charges for exposing this kind of stuff to under aged. How much of a difference between that and an adult walking into school naked.

We have just come through an election which was essentially won on the basis of an "elbows up" marketing job designed to convince Canadians that the Liberals were the best party to defend us from the US taking over Canada.

And yet when Mark Carney brings in the King to give The Throne Speech in Parliament, the political conversation in some circles degenerates into anti-Monarchist rants.

If you take away the institutions that fundamentally define our independence from the USA - the monarchy, our Parliamentary system of government - you are playing directly into the hands of American interests that have wanted to take us over for the last 250 years.

You don't have to like the current monarch to recognize the value of the institution.

It's not hard to imagine the steps to undermining Canadian independence - first we get rid of the monarchy. Then we adopt more and more Presidential procedures of which Mark Carney signing fake Orders before the cameras is a current example. Then we have the Prime Minister avoiding Parliamentary Question Period and holding his own carefully staged press conferences. Other steps on the road to authoritarian republicanism might include abolishing constituency-based elections in favour of voting for party determined “lists”. Or how about abolishing elections altogether and having everybody "vote" on carefully crafted questions using their cell-phones (no chance of fraud or manipulation I'm sure.)

The point is our Parliamentary democracy goes back to Magna Carta in 1215 - almost six hundred years before the American Constitution. We ought not overthrow an important element of our Parliamentary system just because we don't agree with all of our current monarch's views. And don't talk to me about costs. I'd rather see these Liberals spending money on a traditional, patriotic visit of the King than on promoting drug consumption or showering money on friends who are in the business of supplying cheap, tiny living units or "alternative" energy sources that are not designed for Canada's climate.

To be credible, independent media have to be prepared to give credit where credit is due. Highlighting Canada's distinctive Parliamentary system with a Royal visit is a good thing.

Keep your powder dry and be ready to oppose the Liberals when they're subsidizing their cronies, actively limiting free speech or selling us out to the American "Republic".

This was a little foolish. I saw a typical opening of parliament, and at 70, I've seen a lot. Having King Charles here is nice, and sends a message to the US. Perhaps don't make up things that aren't there to suit a narrative. And divisiveness is no longer going to fly with most Canadians.
