Carney grilled over the socially conservative values of newest floor crosser
Reporters grilled Carney over the seeming hypocrisy of recruiting his latest floor crosser, Marilyn Gladu, who some argue has a more socially conservative record than Poilievre.
Prime Minister Mark Carney said that despite his latest floor crosser’s long-held pro-life values, support for conversion therapy, and promotion of the Freedom Convoy, a protest his government is still litigating against, now Liberal MP Marilyn Gladu will vote with the government on those issues.
During a press conference in Monteregie, Quebec, on Thursday, Carney faced several questions from reporters about how the Liberal Party could recruit Gladu, who has a history of supporting policies that the party has vehemently opposed and has historically banned MPs from expressing support for.
