Carney government DENIES reports of potential X ban
The federal government has pushed back against claims that Canada was in talks with the U.K. and Australia about coordinated action against X as concerns grow over AI regulation and online censorship.
The federal government is pushing back against reports suggesting Canada is considering restrictions on social media platform X.
Over the weekend, a U.K. Telegraph report claimed Canada was in discussions with the U.K. and Australia about coordinated action against X over AI-generated deepfake content. Liberal cabinet minister Evan Solomon moved quickly to deny the report, saying, “Contrary to media reports, Canada is not considering a ban of X.”
Elon Musk condemned the idea as censorship while warning users that illegal content created or shared using Grok would face consequences.
Also, Alberta independence sentiment continues to rise. A new Research Co. poll found 31% of Albertans are open to the province becoming independent, with support strongest among younger voters.

Let's hope that is true for one cannot believe any Liberal Politician when their lips are moving.
Having said that I suppose that would be a test of how very stupid and incompetent the Liberals and Carney could be as doing what the UK is now thinking about doing might be the death of Carney and gang which would not be a bad thing but this being Canada likely not.

Would not want to put any odds on how much Trump would be pissed and what exactly he might do further to "deal with" Canada but you can be assured it would not be pretty for Canada nor the loudmouth who is the Premier of OntArWeOwe who is currently fixated on a hundred and some odd jobs from Crown Royal {A Canadian Company}. Jobs lost because despite bozo's bluster OntArWeOwe is absolutely NOT open for business.
Those lost jobs would not even be petty cash for the job loses that would follow in OntArWeOwe (and Canada) should the feds be that stupid.
The one thing Canada should have learned about Carney and gang is YES...
