Prime Minister Mark Carney faces a parliamentary showdown over whether he misled Canadians about U.S. toll-sharing concessions in the Gordie Howe Bridge deal.
Conservative MP Kelly McCauley, chair of the House of Commons government operations committee, announced Thursday that opposition members had requested an “urgent investigation” into the agreement and the government’s public explanations of its terms.
“As their chair, I will convene a meeting on Wednesday, July 29 to allow the committee to get to the bottom of the matter,” McCauley said.
