Copy: Prime Minister Mark Carney’s preferred pick for Canada’s next ambassador to Washington is already under fire. Mark Wiseman, a longtime Liberal insider and former head of the Century Initiative, is facing backlash for past remarks advocating for a 150% population increase, eliminating limits on temporary foreign workers, and loosening Canada’s supply-managed dairy system.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre accuses Wiseman of helping design the “immigration mess” that overwhelmed housing, healthcare, and the job market. Newly resurfaced footage shows Wiseman describing federal screening for foreign workers as “bureaucracy” and arguing that Canada should “let people in” and conduct screening after the fact.
Meanwhile in British Columbia, speculation of a snap election is intensifying. A Juno News exclusive revealed that a B.C. NDP field organizer has been seeking short-term office rentals beginning in late January — a classic sign that Premier David Eby may be preparing to send voters back to the polls. The timing would catch the B.C. Conservatives off balance after leader John Rustad was ousted in a caucus revolt last week.
Plus, new exclusive polling conducted for Juno News by OnePersuasion shows widespread anxiety over Indigenous land claims after a B.C. Supreme Court ruling recognized Aboriginal title over land in Richmond, including areas containing privately owned property.
EXCLUSIVE POLL: 57% in BC worried Indigenous land claims threaten private property
Nearly half of all British Columbians fear their private property rights are under attack because of Indigenous land claims, following a landmark court ruling that affirmed Aboriginal title over a fully developed urban area, including privately-owned homes.
That concern cuts across party lines — including 45% of BC NDP voters and 77% of BC Conservative voters.
Marc Patrone is joined by True North managing editor Cosmin Dzsurdzsa to discuss the polling results, the political fallout for the B.C. NDP, and the turbulence inside the B.C. Conservative Party as a potential election looms.

Let’s hope he’s the first WEF follower that JFK goes after
Bad actor, look at our immigration. Lot of illegals that don’t care about our country
Come ON CANADA.
What further proof do you need that the liar, fraud AND ASS by the name of Carney's sole job once elected was to complete the destruction of Canada.
Hopefully south of us they will tell Carney to GFY.
You know...
The same thing Carney is doing to what used to be Canada.
Not to worry though if your actually give a rat's ass about Carney.
Rat and Ass work quite well to describe him but he has taken care of himself (and Brookfield) and his buddies in The WEF, Globalists, etc. .. Just fine.
