Carney COMPLETELY DISMISSES U.S. trade talks
Carney dismisses questions about U.S. relations just as Alberta and Ottawa edge closer to an energy-sector pact. Plus, new data reveals newcomers increasingly favour reduced immigration.
When asked whether he’s recently spoken to U.S. president Donald Trump, Prime Minister Mark Carney brushed off the question with: “Who cares?” — even though Canada’s economic future hinges on cross-border trade.
Conservative MP Melissa Lantsman says Carney’s attitude shows he’s “pretending he has any grip” on the U.S. relationship, arguing the Prime Minister has already botched the one promise he made on ensuring stable trade ties — something that matters to auto workers, exporters, farmers, and every border community that depends on the U.S. market.
Meanwhile, Ottawa and Alberta appear to be moving toward a major new energy-sector deal — with sources reporting the two sides are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding this Thursday. It’s the latest signal that Premier Danielle Smith is still pushing for cooperation on resource development, even as relations with the federal government remain strained.
Carney also made headlines for calling on AI data centres to be carbon neutral, insisting the world needs carbon pricing to manage the surge in energy demand coming from artificial intelligence.
Longtime manufacturing executive and policy analyst Ves Sobot joins Marc Patrone to explain how Ottawa’s mixed signals on trade, energy, and carbon policy are creating uncertainty for businesses that rely on predictable rules and stable U.S. relations.
Plus, a new Leger poll shows a sharp shift in public opinion on immigration. Newcomers themselves overwhelmingly want lower intake levels — with 67% saying Canada should admit fewer than 300,000 immigrants per year, and 40% saying the country should admit fewer than 100,000. It’s the latest signal that the government’s record-high intake levels are out of step with public sentiment, including among those who recently arrived.

If Carny doesn’t want to act like a Prime Minister, perhaps he should resign and let Canada have a leader who cares about Canada . He appears to be more concerned with his personal interests
Because he is a complete and utter LOSER and knows he has buckled under to Trump and couldn't negotiate a sandbox.
Well done Liberal voters - says everything about you.
