Carney claims his industrial carbon tax “helps” steel companies impacted by tariffs

Carney avoided answering whether he would provide industries impacted by the U.S. tariffs relief from the industrial carbon tax and instead suggested companies benefited from paying it.

Liberal Leader Mark Carney avoided answering whether he would provide industries impacted by the U.S. tariffs relief from the industrial carbon tax and instead suggested companies benefited from paying it.

During a press conference at the Algoma Steel plant in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Carney acknowledged steel manufacturing sites such as Algoma were the “ground zero” sites of places impacted by U.S. steel and aluminum tariffs.
