After a damning report from Canada’s Auditor General, which found that the federal government “lacked funds” to investigate more than 98.7 per cent of potential student immigration fraud in 2023 and 2024, Prime Minister Mark Carney is saying his government has fixed the problem.

During a media scrum in the House of Commons on Wednesday, Carney responded to reporters asking him about his government’s response to the auditor general’s report earlier this week, claiming that his government has completely reversed the disaster and investigated all cases of immigration fraud.
