Carney CAUGHT PARTYING while Canadians “make sacrifices”
Mark Carney’s “sacrifices” message collides with photos of Liberal insiders sipping prosecco at a post-budget party. Dan McTeague joins Marc Patrone to unpack the fallout.
The Conservatives are calling Mark Carney’s first budget a reckless spending spree, accusing the Prime Minister of adding more than $5,400 in new spending per Canadian family. Pierre Poilievre says it’s proof the Liberals have learned nothing from the inflation crisis, while Carney insists his plan will “transform” the economy — even if it means “sacrifices.”
At the same time, Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne was spotted celebrating with party insiders and journalists at a post-budget bash — a night some critics say shows just how out of touch the government has become.
Dan McTeague joins Marc Patrone to break down the political fallout from Budget 2025 and why he believes Carney’s green-industrial push could deepen the affordability crisis and drive investors south.
