Carney caught on camera praising Michael Ma at Liberal fundraiser
Last week floor-crossing MP Michael Ma called China's forced labour camps "hearsay."
Prime Minister Mark Carney praised the “fundamental Canadian values” of MP Michael Ma, who recently came under fire for denying the existence of forced labour camps in China. Ma defected from the Conservative party to join the Liberals in December.
Carney was caught on camera on Monday evening, heaping praise on Ma at a private Liberal Party of Canada donor event in the GTA. The video was released by Global News.
Last week, Ma asked an expert witness testifying during a House of Commons committee meeting whether they’d ever seen forced labour in China, before calling it simply ‘hearsay.’
