CARNEY AT G7: More Ukraine war sanctions, Italian jets
Since the beginning of the year, $2.8 billion has already been provided in military assistance to Ukraine, with thousands of sanctions imposed.
Prime Minister Mark Carney announced plans to impose new sanctions on Russia and to explore procuring new “state-of-the-art” fighter jets from Italy during the G7 summit in France.
Carney met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and pledged sanctions targeting 162 individuals, entities and vessels linked to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
