Canadians more concerned with economic growth than climate change: poll

Nearly half of Canadians feel Ottawa should be doing more to get pipelines built in Canada, according to a new poll from the Angus Reid Institute.

Economic growth is a top-of-mind concern for most Canadians, outweighing issues such as climate change when it comes to energy policy.

According to a new survey from the Angus Reid Institute, 61 per cent of Canadians say “growing the economy should be the bigger focus for energy policy than stewarding the environment,” compared with 39 per cent.
