Canada's TC Energy announces $1.5B natural gas project for U.S. customers
The investment marks another large-scale Canadian capital commitment flowing into U.S. energy infrastructure.
Canadian energy giant TC Energy is directing another major infrastructure investment south of the border, committing US$1.5 billion to expand natural gas delivery capacity across the eastern and midwestern United States as demand for electricity and industrial energy surges.
The Calgary-based pipeline operator announced that its new Appalachia Supply Project will increase the amount of natural gas transported through its Columbia Gas transmission system by an initial 800 million cubic feet per day, with the possibility of eventually expanding capacity to as much as 2 billion cubic feet daily.
