Canada’s shelves are stocked with slave labour Labubus
Despite recognizing the Uyghur genocide, Canada continues to import goods linked to forced labour at increasing volumes, with limited enforcement and no legislative counterpart to U.S. protections.
Canadian children are playing with dolls stitched from cotton picked by slaves. That’s the implication following a New York Times investigation.
Independent lab testing has revealed that clothing on many authentic Labubu dolls — the viral bunny-eared “furry monster” toys from Chinese company Pop Mart — contains cotton from China’s Xinjiang region. That same region is banned under America’s Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act.
