U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Prime Minister Mark Carney “aggressively walked back” controversial comments made at the World Economic Forum during a phone call with President Donald Trump, which Carney sharply denied, insisting he stood by everything he said in his Davos speech

In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Tuesday, Bessent said the 100 per cent tariff on Canadian exports that Trump threatened following Carney’s Davos speech would be “a disaster for Canada.”
