This beggars belief. Not even individuals, who are likely to be seriously employable. Just more drain on the system. This cannot be just incompetence on the government's part. It's intentional.

I totally agree with Thane. This is so nonsensical, it defies belief. Let's fast-track even more new immigrants, particularly of the non-productive variety, who will contribute exactly zero to Canada, while further straining our already crumbling infrastructure (which is already on life-support). This must be by design - it has to be - and I confess, I do not now understand the WEF's agenda here. It's puzzling. BTW, I wonder if Ontario's Liberal PM, Doug Ford, has agreed to take his share of this new batch. Doug?

Already crushed, canada no longer exists. It only exists in the minds of the socialists and opposition parties, and by title. THE Canada dropped from existence 10 years ago. And it will never come back.

James, we all know that this is simply vote-buying, which has been practiced perfectly by Turdo before him. Virtually every single parent or grandparent will vote Liberal, and nothing can stop this stupid but brilliant tactic.

Barry, depressingly, I know you're correct. This actually began with the First Trudeau who granted a broad stroke immunity/citizenship to all undocumented immigrants of Chinese origin. Even today, that entire Diaspora vote en bloc for the Liberals. I do my best to retain some level of optimism for the future, but in those darker moments we all have, I feel as though our country will inevitably destroy itself. And in this brave new world we live in, I'm not certain there will be enough left over to rebuild. Looking at the physical reality of a map, the idea of a political union with the US may be the only solution. Not ideal I know, but perhaps better than an eternity of this lunatic government we are now subjected to. The Orange Donald will eventually expire. I wonder what an honest vote among Canadians would be on the subject of joining the US?

I'm afraid there is no such thing as an honest vote among Canadians.

Yeaahhhhh. In my darkest of dark moments, I think that some kind of extinction event - man made or natural - is the only thing that could save the planet. Tear it all down and start again. But, alas, I'm still human and therein lies that small spark of hope - the one that drifted out of Pandora's Box after the four horrors were released. I witnessed a little of that hope while walking through the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa, through -25 degree temperatures. There are still people willing to fight. Canadians surprised me then, and I still maintain that dim but still glowing spark

And I'm with you on one thing. I will continue shouting into the void at these bastards while I can still draw breath.

Whether you like Winston Churchill or not, he got at least a few things right. I may not have the quote exactly correct, but you'll get the idea: "If you're not a Liberal by the time you're twenty, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative by the time you're forty, you have no brain."

And BTW, the people who are destroying Canada right now are NOT Liberals. The Liberal Party was hijacked - likely by the WEF - about 15 years ago. They kept the name "Liberal", simply because it suited their agenda and the Canadian people are more familiar with it. It was the WEF who installed He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named as PM, ten years ago. Think how easy a simpleton like that was to control, and now, his replacement, Snidely Whiplash. Controlling Carny? Ha. He has no spine and zero charisma. I think about these things a lot because I am an actual liberal (small l) and a practising Conservative.

The whole thing is of some minor interest to me. I've just turned 81 and have been 7 years without a family doctor. I guess my only problem is that I'm not trans requiring a new organ, or a recent immigrant, or LGBQTxyz +(squared) x (cubed) or any other visible or sexual minority. So what is our Government going to do??

Bring in more people whose age will require even more attention from our very broken systems?

OH... And give them benefits that regular hard working Canadians could only dream of?

Really????

Yes, William, and this is exactly what the globalist elites want. We must obediently keel over and do what they arrange for us to do: live in 15 minute cities where we are "lucky" if we still have houses (no longer our own), eat bugs, drive nowhere, recite odd acknowledgements geared to the rights of others... I am not one to give in, but sadly, I am becoming more and more grateful that I am getting old, and blessedly may be dead and buried by the time the WEF folks get their prizes. Never, if you ask me. It may have to get much more embarrassing before the chance comes to change the government again.

If there was any doubt about where the carney government is going, this should tell you. A system straining at the seems, housing shortages, food banks bursting at the seems, only some the problems, with a large part due to immigration/illegals, what is being done, bring more people in, people that in many cases will not work, due to age etc, to put an even worse strain on the system. Way to go carney government. One would think you wanted to finish what's left of the country.

If there was ever a time in this country that the ''uniting'' of families of previous immigrants was needed it is certainly not now. Those who have immigrated lately by now by breaking the law have put unfathomable pressure on our education and medial resources. And now Carney wants to make things worse when every country has access to computers by means of which families can communicate with each other while being half the world away. What a total brainless idiot! The Peter Principle has bitten Carney hard.

Parents and seniors are supposed to be respected and given a safe home in which to live out their final years of life. The Liberals, should I say the truth ,are just Communists pretending to care , but are cruelly patronizing and condescending to both the parents , seniors and their sponsors. Simply because, like the homeless have no where to live, so will these parents and seniors find that life in Canada isn't anything like what they were lead to believe. Worse yet the Liberals actually believe that the reward of getting more votes is worth the cost of destroying the lives of parents and seniors.

Yes, this idea is nothing short of sinister, because it definitely reflects the goals and demands of the World Economic Forum. The moral values promoted by the WEF are in total opposition to the wishes of most Canadians. Its members want only to promote the success of the elites, and could care less about the lifestyles of the elderly immigrants whom they are trying to lure into Canada -- same as the plan to make electric cars mandatory, and penalize dealerships which cannot sell all of their overpriced vehicles, and the billions of dollars of investment required to convert -- nearly everything in our future is being designed quietly and without much,, if any, input from citizens, to ruin the world as we know it, under the guise of ideas like "climate change" and so on... let's remember the scandalous behaviour of the World Health Organization and the ructions and mandates it decreed with their promotion of covid-19, and its deadly "vaccines" which are now killing many more people than the numbers who ever caught covid-19. Despicable behaviour starts with one government at a time. Canadian citizens must not allow this to happen. Yes, James, we can be sure that this is a "design" -- but certainly not one meant for our security and well-being. Yes, Thane, I agree. This is intentional; and we must beware of it, and choose a different path asap. Creepy isn't it, how a "seniors welcome" policy can look so fair and happy, when the results are sure to be just the opposite. Let nobody be fooled -- this is just the tip of the horror show, and we've got to stop it while we still can.
