Prime Minister Mark Carney appears to have softened his stance on U.S. trade, saying Canada and the U.S. remain deeply tied through trade, supply chains, and energy, contradicting earlier proclamations made in his Davos speech.

Speaking to a subdued investor crowd Thursday at the Economic Club of New York, he added: “Canada Strong will help Make America Great Again.”
