Canada Post wastes $200M on climate initiatives

Canada Post kept pouring money into climate programs while axing doorstep delivery, shuttering rural outlets, cutting thousands of jobs and accessing taxpayer-backed, interest-free financing.

Canada Post burned through nearly $194 million on climate initiatives while sinking deeper into the red, slashing services and jacking up stamp prices by 46 per cent, records show.

“Canadians expect their postal service to play a leading role in the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future,” reads the mission statement Environmental Stewardship. “It’s a responsibility we embrace.”
