Canada Post will eliminate nearly half a million home delivery mailing addresses across the country next year, with most of the losses in Ontario and Quebec, “as part of its broader transformation to modernize the postal service and return to financial self-sustainability.”

The Crown corporation announced the changes on Thursday, saying 37 communities will be affected. Residents in those areas will have their mail redirected to community mailboxes.
