The people who pay Canadian and provincial taxes get to fly those flag only, not a foreign flag. Period. It's a Provincial building therefore no other flag should be there. If the Palestinians want their flag there, then they must pay all the taxes required to keep the Province running on behalf of all Manitobans.

But I doubt this foreign flag-raising is a Palestinian initiative, it's more likely a hidden group with a hidden agenda trying to sow division and confusion, as usual.

I agree, so long as no Isreali flags, or other flags are flown.

If you have a principle, you need to make it universal. Practically speaking, when a Canadian Hockey Team plays an American Hockey Team both flags are flown. This makes sense, provided that when Team Russia plays team Canada the Russian flag is flown.

Basically, if we are not to take sides in foreign disputes that is a universal statement. If we are going to criticize other countries, we need to do it in a principled way that applies the same standards to every country. We also need to recognize that City Hall does not engage in Foreign Policy, so is not the appropriate place to protest Foreign Policy that you do not agree with. Instead the protests should be redirected to the Federal Government.

Yes, City Hall and the Provinces need to maintain unbiased attitudes in regards to international politics. Just fly the Canadian or Provincial flags and nothing else. Municipal flags of course at City Hall.

When ships enter national waters they fly the flag of the host nation with their national flag underneath. This indicates the ship will respect the laws and protocols of the host country. Otherwise, they might be considered enemy invaders.

In sports, flying both flags is a show of respect and an agreement of to engage within the rules of the game.

Dah. Ask them to give me a call so I straighten out the situation for them.

The names of the 8 councillors who kiboshed this vote should be openly and clearly published by the media for all Calgarians to see and to know who not to vote for again in the next election....It is clear that maybe more than half of the city councillors are far left wing woke morons who have zero morals or ethics and nothing but pure contempt for the public's wishes.....

Stakeholders must be informed first? Why? Taxpayers and residents own city hall, not a group who wants to import their conflict.

Is this old conquest lore, where once the flag is raised, they city is theirs. Strange to have all those requests. And look at whose flags are being raised. List is on city website. Just a Hodge Podge of nobodies. Tiny countries. It seems like just a goofy waste of time. Cut it.

For 1400 years western civilization has fought Muslims at the gates. In the 21st Century, we've invited them in...to our own peril. There will come a time when open-minded progressive liberals will realize the error of their ways (and a few seconds later, their heads will be rolling on the ground by their knees).

Would flying the Swastika flag be okay? I'm sure there are some people who believe in it. We wouldn't want to OFFEND them now, would we?
