Calgary city council has voted to cut $9 million from its 2026 climate and environment budget, approving a motion that supporters framed as necessary fiscal restraint during an affordability crisis.
I have to chuckle every time when people start discussing climate change!! The climate has changed many times since the earth was formed!! The sun has more to do with changes than humans do!! The North Saskatchewan River RAN DRY in the 1860's!! Did we change the weather patterns to do that???? I DON.T THINK SO!!
We need to protect what was formed after the last ICE AGE, that would be to protect our native grass lands and for farmers to keep a living root in the ground as long as possible!!
I seems weird that we have to applaud a city when a simple decision like this is made. The fact that 6 people opposed the cut is the real story. They feel that there should be no accountability and a budget that is presented gets royal ascent?!
Perhaps there is hope for Calgary after all.
