Calgary police have charged bar owner Ankit Drall with alleged sexual assaults after multiple victims came forward with accusations of unwanted touching.

According to police, the first alleged incident occurred when a victim attended a job interview at Fire N Ice, located at 854 16 Ave. S.W. in January.

The victim reported to police being “inappropriately touched” by the interviewing manager without her consent and being temporarily prevented from leaving the establishment.

Three months later, police said a second victim reported being touched inappropriately and sexually assaulted at a private residence following a night out at the bar with friends.

As a result of an investigation, Ankit Drall, 31, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of unlawful confinement.

In their official statement on Friday, Sgt. Paul Ralstin of the Calgary Police Service thanked the victims who came forward.

“Their courage allowed us to advance this investigation. Sexual contact is never acceptable without clear, voluntary, and specific consent. Consent must come from a conscious, capable mind and can be given, withdrawn, or withheld at any time,” Ralstin continued.

While the alleged offences occurred fairly recently, Calgary police also offered a reminder in their statement that, “in Canada, there is no time limit on reporting a sexual assault.”

“We encourage anyone who believes they are a victim of sexual assault to report it,” Ralston added, “no matter how much time has passed.”

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, July 4, 2025.
