Canada’s top soldier apologized through tears to members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) who faced racial discrimination and harassment, stating the institution “failed” them.
I left the military after 21 years in 2008, 7 tours overseas which included 5 tours to former Yugoslavia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. Not once did I ever notice, witness and experienced racism in my entire service. If anything we embraced soldiers of different races because we were a team and we had the backs of each other. For this person to be saying this then the wheels must have fallen off since I retired. There might be another reasons for this speech, is that this is a political move to paint people of being racist and fit the liberal party’s narrative that they have been shoving down our throats for a decade plus to push the white supremacy narrative. If I was to choose, it would be the later comment. When you become a high rank officer who is saying this is about our military; when you get at this rank you have become a politician and is no longer a soldier, my bet is that this person is just echoing what they are being told to say. A lot of these generals forget where they come from and they are just in it for themselves and they are willing to throw anything/ anyone under the bus just to get ahead…
"An apology, while necessary, is only the beginning,” said retired sergeant and former chief..."
Oh, he's gonna get paid, again. Solution is all white male army then this won't happen again.
Pathetic. Crying? Unless you're like Eisenhower touring a death camp. Crying? What a pansy culture.
