Both Nenshi and Gondek are useless as a teet on a bull. Incompetent and big-talk with no action, typical DEI driven left-wing nutjobs.

Makes me question the mental capacity of the people who voted them in.

And now, Nenshi being the "leader" of the "official opposition", always opposes any and all common sense political decision, especially those made by Premier Smith. Looks like his whole miserable political existence is not about what's best for the people of Alberta but what's best for Nenshi.

The arrogance of this pompous buffoon has no limits. Imagine the world where the majority of the parents want their kids back in classrooms and protected from perverts and groomers, while Nenshi openly admits the whims of the unions and gender-benders supersede those of the parents. And his minions applaud. Sadly, you don't have to imagine this; it happened.

And why was Gondek elected? Another DEI hire with oh such useful degree in sociology.

Her own words for her and Sohi's win: "We have normalized now the idea of women and people of colour being in senior leadership positions. I am happy that the population sees itself reflected in its local government."

If that doesn't scream DEI, I don't know what does.

The risk of water pipe failure was identified going back to 2004. Nothing was done to fix it. It critically failed twice in under a year and a half.

The Green Line fiasco is another shiny example of a mutant child of poor planning and wishful thinking. And that's from a mayor who supposedly was all about infrastructure, transportation, and extensive experience in urban planning.

This kind of incompetence is a trademark of both NDP and Liberals yet people keep putting these idiots in charge.

The incompetence of both NDP and Liberal trough feeders is attributed to their pathetic failure in real life experiences. They lack basic skills and moral abilities to build and operate a business from the ground up, and simply operate 100% under a warm union comforter. Having had to work beside this system is a profound realization of how little everyday tax payers understand the depth of government incompetence. If you only watch MSM at the end of the day, you may feel good, but you're going to pay.

Indeed. I try to be as informed as possible, and see both Msm and independent news outlets view. And that's where the real difference shows best, you get the real stuff from independent, and nothing but lies and propaganda from msm.

Precisely why I support the independent media with paid subscription. Plus, I love to see there are many people whom I share my views, unashamed and unafraid.

Very well stated and all true . Clowns like this should never get elected but today the ignorance and stupidity of the voting public knows no bounds . Then even after elected and making a total failure of their tenure they get re-elected . Is it any wonder our country is going under .

So, as in Toronto, it makes a person wonder where all the tax money went. Toronto is now mired in infrastructure repairs plus condo development making it nearly impossible to get around or figure out what detours the TTC is taking today. Those repairs were put off for years and years. Better late than never I guess, but please don't use the planned-demic as an excuse.

And why is anybody surprised who was paying attention.

Nenshi was useless but worse than that dangerous.

There was ample evidence of that but there was a three letter clue there.

NDP

All you really needed to know and yet... There he was.. Doing little to nothing except destroying things.

It's the way they roll.

Elect garbage.

Get garbage back in return.

Nenshi.. Poster Child and the theme now continues with Alberta's useless NDP lead by him.

For sure, let's point a finger at Nenshi and Gondek for this mess. And let's point a finger at Jeff Fielding (City Manager 2024-2019), David Duckworth (hired in 2018 as Manager of Utilities, then promoted to City Manager/CAO in 2019), Stuart Dalgleish (COO since 2023), and Nancy Mackay (Manager of Water Quality 2012-2019 then Director Water Services 2019-present). And let's not forget the long list of councillors who held long-term roles (many who served for 8-20 years) and are complicit in this mess. But if we really want to see accountability, ultimately the CAO, David Duckworth, and COO, Stuart Dalgleish, and Director of Water Services, Nancy Mackay, should be fired.

Absolutely. Very well said - at least the top 3 layers of management at city hall ALL need to be FIRED FOR CAUSE. This is very clear incompetence, willful neglect and perhaps even fraudulent reporting to the public. Fire the top guy, Fire his 2nd in commands, fire all the next level down as well. This house needs to be burned to the ground; only front line staff should be allowed to keep their cushy highly paid jobs. MAYBE some front line supervisors and staff who wrote TRUTHFUL reports and memos - but show us the proof or get whacked.

I watched the whole public hearing and was very impressed with the Panel, especially Chairman Siegfried Kiefer. They all understood and stressed the urgency Calgary faces. They knew their report backwards and forwards, and answered all the questions (ridiculous or not) with patience and forbearance. At the very end, when Councilor Johnston pressed for who was ultimately accountable, Mr. Kiefer said (in diplomatic words) that he would have fired top management. It is a good thing the Panel didn't release their report before the new council was elected, or it would probably have slipped through the cracks. I hope Duckworth and Dalgleish are fired, with prejudice and no juicy severance.

Just goes to show that being a totally incompetent, woke, SJW retard is no bar to a fine career in government - while it was the pits under Nenshit and Gondick, look east to the incompetent cretins sucking us dry in Ottawa. Jasus wept!

Lefties demand pet projects for ongoing social engineering. DEI initiatives, diversity projects, “climate crisis” and art installations all apparently are more important than needed infrastructure.

These people need serious jail time!

This was a surprise to read . One hardly ever gets to see the true pic from a report especially if it is critical as this one is . The finger was pointed directly at the two mayors .

It surprises me to no end that they would have elected these Woke people in an Alberta city .

The old saying ; You get what you vote for and this is sure the case here .

Most ndp and Liberal socialists live in Canadian cities. That's why they are elected into city counsel.

So if I understand correct, The City has been collecting revenue for Water, Sewer and Service Drainage but the money has gone to general revenue and ultimately other misplaced priorities....the whole time, as in 20 years, Senior Bureaucrats knew there was a problem...that's either dereliction of duty or incompetance bordering on criminal.

Most liberal and ndp socialists live in Canadian cities. This is where most immigrants settle as well. I consider the liberals socialists because of their anti-capitalism, and passing federal bills taking away the rights of provinces, and Canadian citizens, and giving it to the federal government. Socialists are jealous of what capitalists accomplish. They want a share of what capitalists have without doing much for it. Most business owners work hard and take personal risks to get what they have. Most government workers now are socialist and think they deserve a job even though it's paid for by business taxpayers. They don't care, business and employees will lose their jobs first, government last. Most of Calgary city counsel have been socialist representatives for years. They are putting money into Calgary government city workers, environment (very high on socialist government priority), and aesthetics, while ignoring infrastructure. This is the way socialists really think, their agenda is more important than clean drinking water. Clean drinking water is very important to human survival. The whole water system should be replaced or repaired now while we have the money. With inflation and debt, we may not have the money in the future.

In their heads socialists dislike capitalism and really think government should have total control over business and citizens. They are enviromental extremists (They are extremists when they divert money away from necessary public needs to environment programs) and want to break capitalism, totally ignoring that government uses other people's money. Alberta may be PC, but for years most Calgary and Edmonton city counsel are socialists. Most of them have ignored PC ideas for years.
