Finally we begin the slow crawl back to our English Common Law shared Confederation heritage. Keep going, Premier Smith.

William Stewart's avatar

Fingers crossed.

Hard to figure out Smith these days.

Jack Burley's avatar

Amen. God Bless her. It is way past due that Canadians come first; not CRIMINALS.

Concerned Male's avatar

She is the ONLY Canadian Leader with common sense and the guts to make it happen!

Harold's avatar

She is not your leader, she is your servant. She is elected Leader of the UPC by party members; she is nothing more. She doesn't lead you, she leads the party. That makes Smith your servant, and you her Master. If Smith is your leader - you are the servant.

Don Hrehirchek's avatar

Exactly. The members are to serve Us, the people . Not we the people serve as it is now. I agree with Your words Harold.

Concerned Male's avatar

Without a leader nothing happens!

Harold's avatar

That is true. If the people (the employer) are not leading their servant, their servant (the employee/politician) does what ever they please - with impunity; nothing the employer wants to achieve will ever happen. We, "the people", are the government.

Deborah Thompson's avatar

You mean like in Ottawa? 😒😒

Concerned Male's avatar

Exactly! They are as far from the people as you can get!

Bamboo's avatar

Oh please...Sure, that is the way it is supposed to be..However, tell that to the corrupt arrogant federal Librerals, NDP and Bloc. Then dont be surprised if you are debanked, your funds frozen and you have criminal charges laid against yourself. We are indeed lucky in Alberta to have a reasonable, fair and for the people government. The important thing to remember that ultimately we are ruled over by a federal authoritarian, corrupt to the core regime, who have corrupted and now control every government department, institution, RCMP, mainstream media, courts, judiciary, judges, senators, etc. Ultimaltely it is the feds who control the final word and say of how and what goes down in this cesspool called Kanada. They all behave like they are gods and we are their peasants and serfs.....

Concerned Male's avatar

Hey, I despise Liberals,NDP and Bloc

"We are indeed lucky in Alberta to have a reasonable, fair and for the people government." That is my point!

Harold's avatar

Yes, you along with 40 million canadians said "I am only one person; what can I do"? Are you the victim of the Librerals, the NDP and the Bloc? The Conservatives are going to come in and rescue you, are they?

"Are you a leader or a servant"? Who has ever asked a single politician that question? Has Candice Malcolm? Has anyone from JUNO NEWS? How about you?

Christine's avatar

I agree! She is our Leader and she has said many times she is working for us!! I applaud her common sense and intelligence and will continue to vote for her!!

Jim Tole's avatar

Great news!!! Alberta seems to be the only sane province in Canada!!!

David James's avatar

Alberta would make a very successful stand-alone country free from the shackles of Woke Ottawa.

John S.'s avatar

Agree, but only as a second option. My first option would be for Canada to succeed. It should be the richest country in the world with the highest GDP due to its educated population, resources and beautiful vistas.

David James's avatar

For me that option woud depend upon the policies of the Federal Government. At the moment Carney promises to cuddle up to China. That would never get my vote.

John S.'s avatar

Personally I don’t like it either. Any dealings with the CCP means one comes out on the short end of the bargain. They are a mercantilist country. (Adam Smith, ‘Wealth of Nations 1776. “It was believed that trade balances must be “favourable,” meaning an excess of exports over imports. Colonial possessions should serve as markets for exports and as suppliers of raw materials to the mother country. Manufacturing was forbidden in colonies, and all commerce between colony and mother country was held to be a monopoly of the mother country.” We try to be fair trade. The two are not compatible. Cheers!

Allan Pippin's avatar

Not with the current federal govt. actually any federal govt.

Keith Washington's avatar

Twenty years ago I would have agreed with you. If you look at high school grads now you wouldn’t feel that way.

John S.'s avatar

Seriously, I’m trying hard not to agree with you, but I would still like Canada to succeed, especially for our high school grads even though I know that might be a long shot.

Richard Courtemanche's avatar

Indeed, reinforce the once sane self-defence laws. Incidentally, NO to the government's confiscation.

Thomas Chesney's avatar

Premier Smith, you give Canadians hope. God Bless you and many thanks for your common sense that doesn't appear too common anymore.

Allan Pippin's avatar

She had common sense she would have demanded promises and timelines rather than the conditional statements from the feds. Nothing burger

K Brooker's avatar

She has to play the game! Show what a joke our country has become. Nothing gets done and nothing gets built because of Liberal policies.

KFLY's avatar

Hmmm… there is a glimmer of common sense in the land.

John S.'s avatar

Perhaps a bit more than a glimmer.

Martina Kruger's avatar

The Castle law is great news! Regarding the MOU…., don’t become complacent, pipelines take 4-5 years to build. Alberta would still be better off in separation.

Allan Pippin's avatar

They will never be built under Ottawa’s misguided direction.

K Brooker's avatar

Smith is not complacent!

Martina Kruger's avatar

There are a lot of people who are on board for Alberta separation, but will now be thinking that “oh, Ottawa is trying to work with us” & become complacent, I wasn’t referring to Smith.

Dennis Cross's avatar

Protecting people who use a gun to defend family and home is common sense and definitely needs to be entrenched into law. Good plan, but please understand the nature of the other party to the MOU. Alberta still needs to separate from Canada.

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

You bet it does, and Smith is fighting against that.

James Turner's avatar

How thoroughly refreshing in this time of lunatic rule with its Justice System that appears to be owned and operated by criminals.

Yet more common sense from Danielle Smith. You totally rock!

Reid Moseley's avatar

See what the independence movement can bring about.

Independence ... Alberta's only hope!

David James's avatar

Yes, that is my belief too.

gordon Ballard's avatar

Wow finally a premier that is actively working for her province against the woke ideology that is so ingrained in our country, we in British Columbia can only dream of such a progressive premier and colleagues! Go Danielle Smith, you are on the right track! You have support from this B. C . boy!!

Robin the Rebel

David James's avatar

Thank you Premier Smith. "One small step." It's a start.

Harold Buchner's avatar

Better get going . Time is running out and Carney is just dragging hie feet .

Ms Smith's avatar

Good work.
