Could be far worse in these dark days but how pathetic that we are supposed to feel grateful that they didn't get the hideous sentence the crown wanted. They should get nothing for what they've endured and big red still on the chopping block

Andree's avatar

This has been political persecution. Real criminals are let loose but if you embarrass or disagree with the government, you will be prosecuted/persecuted. How pathetic that political egos are more important than people's rights.

Carl Linkletter's avatar

That is how you know you live in a communist country, not a free country.

David James's avatar

My opinion? Mr. Trudeau should be spending serious time wearing orange coveralls.

Andree's avatar

It would be well deserved considering scandals, likely fraud, hate speech, what else??? If there were consequences for politicians, maybe we would have better governments.

Roger Monthomery's avatar

YES I totally agree ! !

Roger Monthomery's avatar

Yes REAL criminals ( Justin Trudeau) breaks the law and walks free no charges .

Dale Watkins's avatar

My first thought was Muslims shutting down traffic in Toronto, government says nothing! Palestine Protesters blocking traffic and making constant ridiculous noise, again, no government intervention? Only one being that true traditional Canadians protest “Freedom” and it’s a big deal! Something doesn’t add up here folks!

David James's avatar

Your statement is logical Dale. The Liberal Acting Troupe of Canada is not.

Barbara Jessiman's avatar

Dale...

'Justice', under the Trudeau dictatorship, became increasingly 'subjective'. The application of which depended largely on who the alleged perpetrators were. Muslims committing acts of blatant antisemitism or other violent acts? Pull out the predictable Islamophobia card, and a sympathetic Liberal judge will deliver a slap on the wrist. Ditto for crimes committed by Indigenous lawbreakers...thanks to the power of the '215 graves hoax'. Anyone else, especially those speaking out against the excesses of the Idiot-King and his courtiers? Tamara Lich, Chris Barber, The Coutts Four: incarcerated for unprecedented periods of time, subjected to years of political persecution on fraudulent charges...or that of 'mischief'. Count on crown prosecutors to appeal the sentences of Lich and Barber.

Nancy Kane's avatar

This is definitely political persecution. This case should have been thrown out of court. I am relieved they are not in jail but house arrest is ridiculous in a so called democracy where peaceful protest is a constitutional right. I have never felt national pride until the day watching them come across the country. I love them all. Thank you for standing up for us with incredible courage. ❤️.

Andree's avatar

There was so much popular support all across Canada, it scared the government and greatly embarrassed Trudeau and Freeland, in fact their whole cabinet coterie. They are trying hard to make sure it won't happen again. Let's prove them wrong at the first occasion, the NHPPA Tour, maybe???

Nancy Kane's avatar

Yes I like that!

BugGoo's avatar

They should never of been charged, the government is the only guilty party in this farce . They should both receive compensation for the political persecution that has gone on for years and they need a written and verbal formal apology ( from the liberal party leader)for the terrible abuse of their charter of rights by the illegal anti freedom anti democracy corrupt WEF puppet government. Both should have monuments made of their images for their honorable brave peaceful actions against a corrupt power hungry regime.

R Mitchell's avatar

You took the words right out of my mouth! Truer words cannot be spoken.

William Stewart's avatar

The real Criminal.

The jerk with the weird sock fetish gets off stock free.

Canada has fallen.

Yes it could have been worse but it also should have been a complete vindication of a righteous act of protest and patriotism.

Both things that are no longer part of Canadian values in the Turd's Post National state.

Judy Matchim's avatar

A terrible decision after : years but what can be expect from a tyrannical govt??

Franz Kafka's avatar

Quite right. I do not feel grateful. But I think the ruling has given the state a sort-of Off Ramp which they probably will not take with Dr Meat Carney on the Governor's throne.

She could have acquitted but that would have been a career and social-status ending act.

mari's avatar

Totally unconstitutional to take away a man's livelihood

Wayne Robinson's avatar

Haven't seen a comment that the Ottawa Police initially helped PARK the protest.

David Carlascio's avatar

Thank you Tamara & Chris!

David James's avatar

Chris and Tamara would make competent members of Parliament.

Franz Kafka's avatar

They would more likely be drowned in the hogwash of the rest of Parliament.

VXX's avatar

Nobody is allowed to be competent in Parliament.

papasha408's avatar

The crown should apologize, and compensation should be given to Tamara and Chris for being made to go through this nonsense.

{Logan} Untitled's avatar

Yes! Compensation like turdope gave the terrorist Omar Gadhafi. What was 5million.

Sherry 1's avatar

Ten million. 😡😡😡

Barbara Jessiman's avatar

papasha408...

Compensation for 'pain and suffering'? By all means. Remember the taxpayer-funded 'settlement' awarded to Omar Khadr for his judicial ordeal after having aided and abetted Osama bin Laden. That was $10.4 million, or thereabouts...courtesy of chronic lawbreaker/ethics violator Justin Trudeau. Omar has more or less disappeared from public scrutiny, along with the rest of his treasonous family. One can enjoy a quiet, comfortable life with that kind of compensation. Perhaps still pondering the prospect of supporting Islamic jihad in some small but special way?

Dennis Cross's avatar

Not only a waste of taxpayer money, but a clear example of the weaponization of the legal system.

David James's avatar

Xi was proud of his Liberals. Carney is a valued friend of his too.

Dr Monica's avatar

GREAT! BUT- these are HEROES! These people are HEROES of Canada and the whole world! When are we going to see some monuments and statues erected for these HEROES??

Phil's avatar

i'm glad that they get to go home but this should have never got this far. We know, as right minded people, it should have been dismissed ages ago!

David James's avatar

It went this far because Mr. Trudeau invested in media, justice and education. That to me is worthy of a long prison sentence.

Indoor Cycling Society's avatar

If the Liberals did not have control of the mainstream corporate media this would have never gone this far

Don's avatar

well..let's keep spreading the word and supporting Indie News..Juno/ True North/ Epoch/ Aristotle/ Rebel News/ Northern Perspective..etc..much better to send $$ voluntarily for the truth...than FORCED to pay for bullshit and being told it's ice cream..

David James's avatar

So true Don. Siding with the MSM is siding with the enemy of democracy.

Mark Sherman's avatar

These should all be EX-JUDGES! Truly pathetic...while gang bangers and murderers are out on the streets in days.

Franz Kafka's avatar

The judge actually went further than I thought possible. She has, in a small way, insulted the ruling class. Normally, the Crown's demand for a severe sentence is met if not half way, a quarter of the way. Perkins McVeigh kicked Shioban Vulture [sic] in the teeth. It was the equivalent of a judicial Wet T-Shirt Mud Fight. Perkins-McVeigh won! And so did Canada.

Transformative Outlook's avatar

Crown prosecutor Siobhain Wetscher is unfit as a lawyer let alone a prosecutor.

Mark Bland's avatar

The bogus charges should never have been laid and the judge should have thrown this case out at the very beginning.

Jay Lundy's avatar

Very true! Cost the taxpayers millions , just to satisfy Trudeau’s ego ! He should been one one trial, if he would have had the guts or brains to do the right thing and met with them, could have over in 3 days!

Not one of them planned or wanted to be there that long!

Corruption in legal system at its finest !

Am glad was no jail, and good thing , as it jail would have happened, would have created a revolution am pretty sure!

The sentence given just to save face and still makes the legal system a joke! ) an expensive joke)!

One Trudeau and his followers should be paying for , not the taxpayers!!!!

Don's avatar

pretty sure he will..

He studied Criminal Law..but only excelled at the "Criminal" part..

Awesome job Alex and Walid and everyone at True North../ Juno/ Epoch/ Aristotle/ Tamara/ Chris and ALL the protesters....we desperately needed this shot of hope!!!🇨🇦..

SimulationCommander's avatar

Great article, and fast! Shared.

Mark Bland's avatar

The entire situation with her arrest and the garbage she had to go through all because the King Trudope wouldn't talk to them and hid in his mother's basement while CBC spread false news about what was happening. Of course the liberal bought judiciary continues to prop up those bogus charges even though he made it a conditional discharge. It should never have made it to trial.

Ian Soper's avatar

What is the punishment for those who forced illegal, unscientific mandates or the injections that lacked informed consent?

David James's avatar

Someone's Trust account rose in value due to Big Pharma commissions? Just a wild guess.

Don's avatar

Same sentence as the Ostriches..I'll even do it for free..

Ken Grant's avatar

Armed carjackers in Ontario are not punished yet the prosecution wanted 8 years for mischief?? What a disgrace. Talk about bringing the justice system into disrepute.

Gord4Truth's avatar

They should appeal. They did no wrong! The dignity of Order of Canada could be restored by bestowing it on Tamara and Chris.

Maureen's avatar

Order of Canada is a joke.

Franz Kafka's avatar

Gord said "restore".

Richard E Lazowski's avatar

I wouldn't appeal. It might provoke the bear. I think the correctional authorities in Alberta and Saskatchewan should just quietly ignore the penalties and let Lich and Barber live their lives in peace...

shelley carrington's avatar

Can u imagine if these 3 C Bills 2-8 & 9 get approved we will never be able to hold any government accountable, we ALL will lose our rights of freedom speech, internet livelihood our Liberty! They must be stopped! Write your MP & say no to the vote

Sherry 1's avatar

And all these years, I thought the Government of Canada took their orders from CANADIANS. These guys are running roughshod over us. Disgusting.

Don's avatar

That loud sound we're hearing today might be the tables turning...cool

David James's avatar

Libranos is their moniker?

Barbara Jessiman's avatar

Sherry...

That was then, this is now. A decade of disgrace and demolition led by a 14-year-old, low intellect narcissist with nice hair in the thrall of Communist China, the WEF, UN, EU, WHO, and other shadowy globalists can utterly transform a decent country. We're living with that awful reality, aren't we?

Don's avatar

maybe..if it's written in crayon..🤪

Brian Giesbrecht's avatar

Once Mosley’s decision finding that the imposition of the Emergencies Act was unconstitutional these charges should have been stayed. This sentencing judge was sensible, but Lich and Barber should never have been put through the torture of this long trial. The prosecutors were actually persecutors. Overall, a sad stain on Canada’s “Justice” system. Not Justice at all
