BREAKING: Germany agrees to buy LNG from B.C.

Canada could eventually ship LNG from Hudson Bay, but suggests supply destined for Europe will come from the West Coast, with exports expected to be shipped via routes including the Panama Canal.

Energy Minister Tim Hodgson announced an LNG deal to supply Germany from the approved $10B Ksi Lisims project in B.C., marking a shift from former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

“I’m extremely pleased to announce that the leading German energy utility Securing Energy for Europe (SEFE) has signed a new agreement to buy liquefied natural gas offtake from Ksi Lisims LNG,” he told reporters Wednesday morning.
