BREAKING: B.C. Conservatives vote unanimously to keep Kerry-Lynne Findlay in race
The BC Conservatives held an emergency meeting of the Leadership Election Organizing Committee on Friday, they voted unanimously to keep her in the race.
The Leadership Election Organizing Committee for the B.C. Conservatives held an emergency meeting on Friday on disqualifying former Conservative MP Kerry-Lynne Findlay from the leadership race following media reports of complaints to Elections Canada related to the 2025 federal election.
The committee voted unanimously to keep Findlay, who is widely seen as a leading candidate in the race, on the ballot. The decision was made just before leadership voting opened. The party is set to announce a new leader on May 30.
Findlay and her team have denied the allegations and say she has not been notified of any investigation. Federal election officials have said that if an investigation were underway, she would be formally notified.
Rob Shaw of Business in Vancouver reported Wednesday that an investigation into her federal campaign was underway, citing “two sources” who said they had seen emails from federal election officials. The probe allegedly involves claims the campaign received “approximately $75,000 in undeclared and unpaid services from a corporation in exchange for promised federal contracts.”
