I’m wondering why B.C. Conservatives need the candidates to sign and agree with the party pledge of unity?

In my opinion, it is bit Liberal like.

I agree... all the main parties do this and it completely obliterated free speech in my opinion ... People's Party does Not do this ... Federal i know ... I hope 1BC will not do this... If all the members of a party agree then they can all vote that way ... when there is a party pledge all the issues end up being made behind closed doors

I agree. WE (the royal WE) don't need anything that smacks of group-think or nanny-state mentality. That is exactly what Conservatism should be united AGAINST. What should distinguish us from our neo-Marxist opposition parties (NDP in this particular case) is our individual ability to think critically.
