BREAKING: 66,000 more jobs lost last month
Fresh data from Statistics Canada reports a second month of large job losses, as the unemployment rate hits the highest level since May 2016
According to new data from Statistics Canada, 66,000 jobs were lost in August, following the 41,000 lost in July. Ontario saw the biggest drop, losing 26,000 jobs.
The latest Labour Force Survey reports that 1.6 million Canadians are currently classified as unemployed, while 31,000 stopped looking for work altogether in August.
The unemployment rate increased to 7.1%, the highest point since May 2016 (excluding the pandemic period).
In the last 12 months, Canada’s population has grown by 649,000, but employment has only grown by 212,000.
This follows Prime Minister Mark Carney’s defence Wednesday of continuing to import foreign workers, saying businesses tell him them need the non-Canadians.
In particular, Unemployment amongst Canadian youth continues to be extremely high, sitting at 14.5%.
This is very concerning for younger people as the government needs them to continue paying taxes. The slow drip of communism is being fully displayed as a major flood now in Canada and most don’t even see it!
We have to remember;
It’s. All. By. Design.
