Bloc Québécois tables repeal of ‘undemocratic’ Clarity Act
Bloc Leader Yves-François Blanchet said the bill’s single clause would repeal what sovereigntists see as federal interference in a decision belonging solely to Quebecers.
The Bloc Québécois introduced a bill Tuesday to repeal the Clarity Act and force parties to take a clear position, while Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre declined to give a direct answer on the issue when asked.
Bloc Leader Yves-François Blanchet said the bill has one clause: to repeal what sovereigntists argue is federal interference in a decision that should belong solely to Quebecers.
