A teacher told students they should “murder” those infected with hantavirus during a classroom discussion about public health, according to audio recordings and transcripts shared with Juno News.

The incident occurred during teacher Jennifer Fink’s Grade 8 social studies class at Ladysmith Secondary School in British Columbia earlier this month during a discussion about hantavirus.

A student asked Fink, “So what you’re saying is they should basically, like, shoot all the people that got it?”

“That’s exactly what I’m saying. Yes. Round them up and murder all of them because they don’t deserve life.” Fink responded.

A student in the room responded to Fink by saying, “We should just bomb that ship.”
